Another episode of News in Hebrew! I promised in the previous one that I’d make more episodes like this—and ever since, it’s been sitting in the back of my mind: At some point, I need to do another News in Hebrew.

So, after two full episodes about Passover that kept me glued to the computer for hours, I decided I needed something a bit more relaxed. And then it hit me—why not go back to the news format?

This is one of those episodes that “almost writes itself,” as people like to say. Okay, not really. It sounds easy—just pick three news stories and talk about them—but in the end, it’s all about the delivery. Because there are a million ways to tell a story.

And don’t think it’s easy to find the stories either. Surprisingly, finding good stories that work for the podcast is actually pretty hard. First of all, a lot of the stuff happening in the world is just kind of boring, or the articles are super short with barely any information.

And in Israel? That’s a whole different problem. There’s barely any coverage of small, local stories. It’s mostly army, politics, and soccer. And if you go to local news websites, most of the stories are about petty crime—which I’m really not interested in covering.

By now, you’ve probably figured out that I’m mostly looking for light stories. I don’t want to write about murder investigations in these episodes. So I thought it would be a quick one—but I ended up spending way too much time just hunting for interesting articles. In the end, I found three that I liked—and I just hope you felt the same way when you listened to the episode.
